How to find the various accommodation options in Honolulu, Hawaii?

I am an engineer who has got a job in Honolulu, Hawaii and will be moving there within a month. How do I find an accommodation before I get there. I am planning to stay there for a long time and I am a single too. Please advise me on finding some cheap accomodation.

1. When I moved here, I stayed at the YWCA for a month while I looked for permanent accomodations. I think you would be wise to wait till you get here to look for a place. You will have a better opportunity to look around and check out various possiblities. There are residential YMCAs where you could stay short term.
